Tower Hill is a former local authority housing estate, based on Radburn layout principles. The local authority has invested in the demolition of system built tower blocks which has resulted in open space areas which are available for the provision of new housing of mixed tenure.
Size of the contract
Overall, the project will deliver 600 new homes in two phases. Community facilities include a new public park with a skate park and play areas for different age groups, a new local gym and boxing club. This is all set within high-quality feature open spaces and home zones.
Roles and responsibilities
As lead developer partner Miller Regeneration provides development expertise to add value and overcome development constraint.
- Masterplanning to cover the whole area of 48 acres. Delivery of 300 new homes within Phase 1 including homes for our stakeholder partner Knowsley Housing Trust, and for the development of a design code for the Tower Hill area, which includes Eco-Homes Standards
- Design of bespoke homes to respond to the needs of the local community and to provide aspirational living designed to appeal to new families and enable transformational change in the area
- Strategic site investigations including highways and geo-environmental studies
- Delivery of affordable homes, low-cost ownership and homes for rent through Knowsley Housing Trust, which will be distributed throughout the site
- Extensive public consultation involving planning for real events and peoples’ panel, site visits and developer open days. Joint sales and marketing and strategic promotional initiatives, exclusive sales period for local residents
- Economic support through local labour training and supply chain initiatives to provide job opportunities for the local community assisted by initiatives with Fusion 21
