Regeneration Pendle
Brierfield Canal Corridor, Lancashire
Brierfield in Pendle is a North Lancashire town. The Clitheroe Road site is an area where the local residents have highlighted the need to improve housing standards.
Elevate Lancashire and Pendle have come together to tackle these issues. Miller Regeneration has been chosen as the developer partner for Pendle and Elevate, to work on a programme of replacement housebuilding which addresses the aspirations of local residents. Miller's partners in delivering the mixed tenure housing options are Pendle Homes and Twin Valley Homes.
Size of the contract
Phase 1 of the development will deliver 103 new homes, together with public realm improvements. Decanting and relocation of existing residents is required prior to demolitions. As development partner Miller Regeneration will investigate and develop further sites within Brierfield and to provide mixed tenure housing which meets the needs of the local community.
Roles and responsibilities
As lead developer partner Miller Regeneration responsibilities include:
- Design of bespoke homes to respond to the needs of the local community and to provide aspirational living designed to appeal to new families and enable transformational change in the area
- Conclusion of an overarching, area wide Development Framework Agreement and site specific legal agreements
- Production of benchmark standards, specifications and detailed working arrangements with our partners including arrangements to satisfy best value requirements
- Extensive public consultation involving planning for real events and peoples’ panel, site visits and open days
- Economic support through local labour and training initiatives
- Wide ranging environmental assessments which will lead to the improvement of the canal towpath and urban forest
